Using Different Kinds of Promotions and Giveaways
Small businesses, generally have limited budgets for advertising, thus they sometimes use unconventional methods to promote themselves. Two most common types of “small business” advertising methods are cross promotions and freebies. Let’s look at each, along with some pros and cons.
Cross Promotions
A cross-promotion is making success or gaining popularity of other business for their own good. In a cross promotion a company works with another company that (hopefully) can increase sales for both companies. For example, you can be free commercial service offering color printing with a commercial printer to any customer who purchases a monthly subscription service. Or you could offer free movie tickets to any customer who purchases a new product. Either way, you are working with another company to promote sales.
